I think what makes origami so beautiful, so amazing, so unique, is that what you create comes from the most simple, basic, and common of all materials: paper.

This video tutorial shows how to make an Origami Boomerang. I can’t guarantee that it will work as great as a wooden boomerang, but from the comments on Youtube it seems like some of the people who made it had a lot of success. On one hand, one guy said, “KUDOS!!! I’m enjoying my new coolest toy ?”… however, someone else commented, “I? failed trying but,at least i tried…”. So if you’re going to try making the Boomerang, make sure to make it correctly, or else it might not work…!

Although I think my guide is more clear than this video, I just wanted to give my readers the option of learning how to make origami balls with video.

Many origami guides / diagrams found online are often very confusing. The first time I tried to make a simple origami crane, I got very confused and it took me nearly an hour and three different tries to make a finished one. For this reason I have tried to create the most simple and easy origami crane instructions. In this guide I have tried to use a lot of pictures, and hopefully this will make this origami guide very clear.

Origami Crane Instructions (difficulty = medium):

1.) Take a square piece of paper (a bigger one is probably best for your first try), and fold it diagonally both ways and then unfold it.

Fold the paper in half. And then fold it in half again to create a square.

2.) Now unfold the square back into the rectangle shape. Fold one side of the paper towards the middle to make a triangle shape. This should be easy to do because their are already creases there.

Now flip over the origami, so that the side you folded is facing down and repeat this same folding again on the other side.

The next step is to basically create a square from the triangle you have made. To do this, open the triangle from the bottom holding it from the bottom of the front and back sides. Pull both sides apart and then it should almost naturally be able to be pushed into a square shape.

3.) Now, with your newly created diamond / square seen above; make it so that the open end of the diamond is facing you (the side where you can open it) and fold the edges of the diamond inward so that you get the picture below. The end closest to the straight line, formed by making the folds, should be the closed side. Making these two folds to both sides should give you the origami picture below.

Fold the top part of the origami both ways, and then unfold it. Also, unfold one side of the origami as seen in the third image below.

4) Lift up the bottom corner / flap from the side that you unopened in the previous step. While holding your finger on the crease at the top, lift up the flap and bring it over your finger. Pull your finger out and fold the flap down, creating a new diamond shape.Repeat this step for the other side.

Flip this new diamond shape origami so that it is vertical. Now fold in the outside edges towards the middle. Make sure that the folds are made so that when they come together, they sort of point to the side of the origami on which both sides are not connected (kind of like two legs).

Now take both sides of the origami and fold them together. Do this to both sides. The origami will look about the same shape, except that the creases you see will look different.

Take the bottom flap (the solid end, aka not legs side), and fold it up so that it almost reaches the “legs side”. Also do this to the other side.

5) With this new shape take both ends and fold them together, so that they are touching. Do this for both sides.

Now the side facing you and the one facing the floor will become the wings. Just fold these down so that they look like wings.

Hey, now this whole origami think is actually starting to look like a crane! Just make one of the remaining ends and fold it to make it look like a head. You can also change the angle of the tail and neck.

Congratulations! You have just learned how to make an origami crane. Don’t worry if your first crane comes out a bit sloppy, just keep trying and eventually you will be able to make perfect origami cranes every time. Once you get the hang of this, you can start trying to use smaller origami paper, and or fancier paper etc. I hope you enjoyed these easy simple origami instructions. Origami balls are very easy and fun to make. Here are my basic folding instructions, so that you can learn how to make origami balls. For the sake of this guide, I have just used plain blank paper (instead of origami paper), and have drawn some lines on it so that it is as clear as possible where to make the folds (for this guide you just need any kind of square piece of paper). Learning how to make origami balls is very easy to do (compared to most origami), and with these instructions you should have no problem learning how to make a nice little origami ball in just a few minutes.

1. The first step is to just get a square piece of paper. In the picture below I have drawn where we will be making the folds in the following steps.
2. First fold your paper diagonally across as seen in the picture.
3. Now make the same fold as in step 2, except using the opposite end.
4. Now fold the paper in half. You should have to creases going diagonally across the paper. I have shown these in the picture below by drawing 2 lines.
5. Now, from each end you should be able to fold in the paper, using the creases made before. This is basically done by pushing the right and left folded edges towards the center of the paper. After doing this to both sides your origami should be in a triangle shape.
6. Now take both ends of the paper and fold them up.
7. Now fold the part that was made in step six towards the middle. See picture. And also repeat steps 5, 6, and 7 to the other side of the paper.
8. You should now be able to find small little pockets that were made from the folding done in step seven. You should be able to fold the paper that is above the pocket, into the pocket. Do this for all the pockets (there are a total of four).
9. Now, holding to opposite ends of the origami, blow into the top. The sides should all puff out and your origami ball will be complete. You have now learned how to make origami balls. It is really that easy to do!

Below is a picture of the materials you need (just a dollar bill) and what you will have made after using these origami instructions.

1. The first step is to just fold the very bottom of the dollar bill back a little (see picture below so you know how much to fold it back.)
2. Now fold the dollar bill in half, leaving a tiny bit of space at the bottom.
3. The third step is to fold the bill in half again, and then make another small fold at the right side of the bill. Basically just folding in the white part. (For future reference, the end of the bill that has been folded will be called F, for folded; and the other side of the bill will be called R, for regular ie. not folded.)
4. Take the R side of the bill and fold it up as seen in the picture below. Make sure that the bill makes a ninety degree angle, and that it is folded up at the N in One.
5. Now basically make the same fold one more time, folding this part of the bill to the right (see picture).
6. Now flip over the bill so that it matches the one in the image.
7. Now roll the bill around your finger to make it look like the picture seven and eight
8. Same instructions as in seven.
9. Now fold the R end across the bill.
10. Now fold the F end across the one dollar bill.
11. The last step is to fold the R end under the ring (so it is not seen), and to secure the F end by latching in the part that was initially folded. For clarification look at the pictures below.

That is it, you have now know how to make your very own money origami ring!
