You may be confused by the title of this post, and that is because, you might be confused by this origami!

It looks like a Box….

But open it… and it becomes a rose!

I think you’ll really enjoy the video instructions for this rose-cube-origami-transformer!

Surprise a friend with a great gift… They may be slightly disappointed when they think you’re just giving them a simple origami cube, but they’ll definitely be impressed when it transforms into an awesome rose!

The green and red modules are made with the same sized paper (10cm x 10cm). Although, you can obviously use bigger or smaller ones. And, you can always get creative with the paper color…. I think a neon pink and blue rose cube would be pretty cool…

I think what makes origami so beautiful, so amazing, so unique, is that what you create comes from the most simple, basic, and common of all materials: paper.

How to make an Origami Boomerang

Origami is fun to make and aesthetically beautiful… however, the Origami Boomerang goes beyond beauty: it’s not only fun to make, but also fun to play with!

This video tutorial shows how to make an Origami Boomerang. I can’t guarantee that it will work as great as a wooden boomerang, but from the comments on Youtube it seems like some of the people who made it had a lot of success. On one hand, one guy said, “KUDOS!!! I’m enjoying my new coolest toy ?”… however, someone else commented, “I? failed trying but,at least i tried…”. So if you’re going to try making the Boomerang, make sure to make it correctly, or else it might not work…!

StarWars Origami! Yoda

One of my favorite StarWars characters is Yoda. The combination of his iconic way of talking and generally strange looks really make him unique. Even more unique than Yoda himself, I think, is Yoda origami.

Now making a Yoda origami is no easy task. It takes a lot of time to become a Jedi master, and it also takes a lot of time to become a Yoda origami master. A series of four instructional videos will take you through the process of making the Yoda origami. In total it is about 40 minutes of video time, and will probably take you quite a bit more time to fold Yoda your first time.

This Yoda origami is really cool! But it isn’t easy. So, may the force be with you!

Star Wars Origami! X-wing

Every Star Wars fan loves the scene where Luke pilots his X-Wing starfighter in a final attack plan against the death Star! I was very excited when I found this video showing how make an origami X-wing starfighter! I know a lot of you origami fans are probably Star Wars fans too! and if not, this origami would be fun to make for a friend or family member who really likes the Star Wars movie series. This video is actually a Spanish production and in addition to the funky remix of Star Wars music, the translation of Luke Skywalker to “Lud” skywalker is pretty funny!

The video should be pretty easy to follow. enjoy!

Origami paper airplane – Origami for Kids

Almost all origami is pretty fun for kids. But, they tend to get really excited when their origami can do something… in this case fly! Paper airplanes are basically a form of origami because all origami really is, is paper folding. So, an origami paper airplane is a great project for kids and really adds a new level to the fun factor.

However, if you really want your kid to have fun, the origami airplane really has to work well. An airplane that barely flies will be a really dissapointment for your child. On the other hand, if the origami airplane flies very well, your kid is sure to have a blast.

This origami paper airplane video is really easy to follow, and the end result is high flying aerodynamic origami paper airplane. However, you may want to try to make the airplane yourself before teaching your child how to make it. Origami Fireworks Video

Most of the origami pieces posted here on blog origami are relatively simple and basic. Also, most of the origami pieces don’t actually function too much. Today, for the first time, I discovered origami fireworks. The origami fireworks origami piece isn’t actually like some sort of origami that explodes (do not try putting gun powder into origami because this may be dangerous), it is just a piece of origami that looks like fireworks. This piece has the fireworks effect because it is actually functional, kind of like a toy, because you are able to turn / spin it and it rotates so that you keep on seeing different colors. I just thought that the origami fireworks are really cool, so here is a video just showing the origami fireworks. Once you have become an experienced origami maker you can give the origami fireworks a shot, but they are probably the hardest origami to make that have been posted blog origami. I think a really good idea would be to use bright and neon colored pieces of origami paper when making this origami, so that it will look even more like fireworks!

The origami firework is a really neat piece of origami, I think it would make a really good toy for a kid…

Origami Duck Instructions (Video)

With origami, the origami swan is usually the most popular origami bird. But, another one of my favorite origami bird pieces is the origami duck. What I reallly like about the origami duck is that when you finish making the duck it actually really resembles a duck. I have found that sometimes origami guides for certain types of animals etc. don’t even come out looking like that type of animal, and I really like how the origami duck actually ends up looking like a duck. Another nice thing about the origami duck is that it is relatively easy to make, it definately takes less time than a swan. Learning how to make an origami duck should take no more than five minutes and you get a really nice result. So here is a video guide to show you how to make an origami duck. This video guide is probably one of the best / most clear and easy guides I have found on the web, so making the origami duck should really be quite easy.

Origami Animation : Kids cartoon show video

I have always known that origami has many interesting uses, and has always been pretty popular. But I recently discovered that at one time there was actually an origami cartoon show. The cartoon animation actually used origami ducks as characters. The origami animation was a children’s show called Quaq quao. It is very interesting, because these days you know that you would never see something like this. But, it is kind of like a blast into origami’s past; showing how over the years origami must have had some popularity. Although I don’t know if Quaq Quao is my favorite tv show, I do know that this animation is very interesting in the way that it used origami to create the animation. So, enjoy this origami video, kids will probably enjoy this one.
